ITALY CRUSHES THE NETHERLANDS, DEFENDS EUROPEAN TITLE

In the very last match of the 2009 CEV Orlen European Championships two unbeaten team met. With a gold medal and a European title at stake, defending champion Italy played against the Netherlands. In a much more one-sided final than expected, the Italians nearly demolished their Dutch rivals. Italy beat Holland 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-20) and proved they were the very best team of the tournament. czytaj więcej

Bronze medal for Poland
04-10-2009In the penultimate act of the 2009 CEV Orlen European Championships, Poland met Germany in the bronze medal game. Both teams met two times this year and Poland won both matches. There was no 'third time lucky' for the Germans. They were defeated once again and leave Lodz without a medal. Poland won 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-23) and took third metal in six years.

Italy will defend the title
03-10-2009With the Dutch team on the audience, waiting for its championship game rival, Italy and Germany played the second semi final of the 2009 CEV Orlen European Championships. No matter what the final result would have been, Italian volleyball school would triumph as both teams are coached by Italian trainers. Finally, it was Massimo Barbolini's side that turned out better. Italy beat Germany 3-1 (25-10, 22-25, 25-12, 25-22) and will try to defend the title on Sunday.

The Netherlands in the final
03-10-2009In the first semi final of the 2009 CEV Orlen European Championships, Poland met the Netherlands. It was their second encounter in this tournament and Holland's second win. Avital Selinger's team took the match 3-1 (25-11, 25-15, 20-25, 25-20) and got its first promotion to the championship game in fourteen years. czytaj więcej

The ECH are starting from the beginning
